PLC conducts one-on-one private sessions and small group classes. The teaching approach is “student centered”, where our goal is to provide language training at levels appropriate for the individuals and the class, in the limited time you have available. Our interactive sessions provide practice, in a fun, setting making the sessions thoroughly enjoyable and something students want to continue!

In addition to the interactive classroom, we also incorporate occasional social events. Students find the optional social events an excellent opportunity to learn more about culture, food, and music while practicing their language skills. Events vary. Classroom barbecues, a gathering at a local restaurant, Brazilian music and dance. You name it! As long as we learn and have fun.

METHODOLOGY

The PLC core curriculum was developed to “match” each student with the class and the materials best suited for their level of expertise and interest. Our training method is unique, because we use use both PLC developed and adopted materials to personalize each student’s experience.

Considerable attention is given to pronunciation skills, to encourage students to start communicating in Portuguese from day one.

Brazilian magazines, newspaper reports, advertisements, music, DVDs, games, conversation, exercises and other various activities are organized and used in ways that help students become familiar and feel confident with the language, in the classroom environment and in their day-to-day life.
